Mercury Mala - Rudraksha Beads with Jade Counter Beads

This Mercury mala has rudraksha beads that are hand knotted with jade tube and rondelle counter beads and gold filled accents. The Guru bead drop is a larger jade tube bead and there is a green tassel.

This is the standard 108 bead mala composed of 9 sets of 11 beads and then the counter bead. Malas are used to count prayers, japa - repetition of Holy names and mantras, and to keep track of breathing exercises in meditation.

The mala is 40" long with a hanging Guru bead and a 2" green tassel. It weighs about 4 ounces.

Jade is a gemstone used to strengthen the planetary influence of Mercury.

Rudraksha beads have a long history of use for sacred malas in several religions. Rudraksha is a Sanskrit word associated with one of Shiva's names, Rudra.
